The Youth Northern Outreach Team (YNOT) offers education, support
and counselling for young people aged between 12-21 who may be
experiencing problems related to their use of drugs and/or alcohol.

YNOT:

• Work under a harm minimisation approach and will endeavour to assist young people with other associated issues and can also help link young people to other support services.
  
• Currently consists of four full time staff that service the entire northern region and can meet young people in their own environment.
  
• Respect the possible sensitivity and distress that clients and others may have with drugs, alcohol and associated issues. All written and verbal information given to workers (except where YNOT are under legal obligation to do so) remain confidential.
  
• Has a commitment to respect the rights and needs of all clients no matter what their circumstances.

YNOT also provides a variety of other support activities which include:

• School based education programs
• Secondary consultation
